That was Jamie Kamaroski the night she drove drunk and plowed into a golf cart carrying a newlywed couple,  killing the beautiful bride.

 Get in the car. Okay, get in the car. Get in the car.  Drag her back.  We have the bombshell footage just released  and it shows the entitlement. Hello. Hi, camera. Yeah, I’m crying because he’s not letting me call my mother even though they haven’t proven. I’m Angelinette Levy and this is Crime Fix.

Jaime Kamaroski is serving a long prison sentence, but no sentence will ever be long enough for the family of Samantha Miller, the beautiful bride Jaime Kamaroski killed on April 28th, 2023. Sam, as she was called by family and friends, had just married the love of her life, Eric Hutchinson, on Folly Beach in South Carolina.

 The wedding was beautiful. The couple was so in love. They were just starting the rest of their lives together. Eric and Sam were riding in a golf cart after the reception when a drunk Jaime Kamaroski plowed into them. The new life of the newlyweds was shattered, destroyed before it could ever truly begin. And it was all because of Jaime Kamaraskk’s deliberate and reckless actions.

 Police in Folly Beach, South Carolina, uncovered surveillance video from a bar that showed Jaime Kamaraski walking in and hugging people and then ordering drinks. Jaime and her friends cheer each other and they down some shots. Later, Jaime does another shot before leaving the bar. Despite being intoxicated, Jaime Kamaroski made the decision to get behind the wheel.

 We’re also seeing what police found when they arrived at the horrific scene and how an incredibly intoxicated Jaime Kamaroski acted. Officers find absolute carnage. Kamaraskk’s car clearly smashed into the golf cart that had been carrying Eric and Sam and two other people. Then officers meet up with Jamie Kamaraski.  Several had to go to the hospital, honey.

 All right. Your name is Jamie, right? Okay. I’m Sergeant Halpern. I gotta ask you a couple questions. Do you remember what happened?  I was driving and then all of a sudden some something hit me and I was just  Which way were you going?  Uh towards my house.  Okay. Where’s your house?  You have any drink tonight?  Nope.

 Uh I had two drinks. I had one beer and one uh drink.  How long ago?  That would probably be about an hour ago.  Okay. So, one beer and what was the other one?  A drink. Like a alcoholic beverage.  Like a what? A screwdriver. A pina colada. Margarita. Uh, it was like a tequila something like a tequila pineapple.

 Tequila pineapple.  Yeah.  All right. Write all this down. Okay. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most impaired, intoxicated you ever been in your entire life, and one being completely sober, where would you rate yourself at right now?  I would like a lawyer, honestly.  Okay.

 So, what I want you to do is look at this pen and don’t move your head. I’m going to check your eyes.  Okay. Are you willing are you willing to do that?  Me up right now.  Okay. Are you willing to do that? Can I check your eyes real quick?  No thanks.  No. Okay.  I want to go home. Jamie Kamaroski won’t even say what type of drink she had.

 And she had asked for a lawyer, which is her right. She knows enough to know she’s in major trouble. And she refuses to participate in field sobriety tests  like that. It’ll literally take me I mean, can you get someone to sign it?  Yeah.  Yeah.  The officers discuss how Jamie Kamaraski has bloodshot glassy eyes and she’s admitted to having two drinks in the last hour. The scene is horrific.

 It has to be documented properly. Sam will not survive. The time comes to take Jamie Kamaroski to the police station.  Just have a seat real quick and we’ll  No, I will. I want I want  Have a seat. Why is it  right now? We’re waiting for sergeant to get here and then we’re going to go through some stuff. I just want to go home.

” And there is no sympathy for her. during this booking process.  Is there anyone that you guys could explain to me what’s happening or?  So, I’m gonna take you to Charleston County. They have a beaver room that looks like this  because this box is not working properly. So, I’m going to take you to one that is working properly.

 Okay.  Okay.  And what does that box do? It provides a breath sample to see what the alcohol levels pretty much without getting super in details of how it works and all that. That’s generally what what it is. All right.  Can I just go?  Unfortunately, you cannot go at this time.

 I got to wait for the judge anyway to sign that warrant. So,  um I’m going to call um there’s another DR team so we can do a dual eval.  Okay.  Um and then we’ll  What if I just refuse it? At this point, you cannot refuse.  Why?  Because it’s the law. So, what do you suspect?  I can refuse.  You cannot  at this.  No, I know that I can.

A judge is on the way to sign some paperwork.  I’ll call the other one and then um whenever  I just want to like get it over with and go home.  Right now, we’re going to just hang out.

And Um,  it’s good.  And then Jamie tries to engage in a little small talk.

 Guysy’s favorite cereal.  Cereal.  Probably crunch berries.  Captain Crunch berries.  Yeah,  good choice. Honey Cheerios. Take a run with those. You know, I am going to have to agree with him.  Those are good opt. You know, my favorite personally is soft serve vanilla with rainbow sprinkles.  Good choice.  But I’m a soft serve crly. But if I do want hard serve, mint chocolate chip and cherry Garcia are definitely on the top of my list. That’s faux show.  Mhm.  Eventually, an officer reads Kamaraski her rights about drug and alcohol testing and she makes a decision about whether she will comply.

I have to check to make sure you have nothing inside your mouth that you’re not supposed to.  I just I am concerned. And I would like to have  the faster that we go through this, the faster you can make your phone calls that you want to make.

 Can you please open your mouth  for what reason?  So I can check the inside of your mouth. Make sure you have no gum, tongue rings, anything that’s not supposed to be in there.  I want you anything that makes your life easier. So,  okay. Jamie Kamaraskki eventually raises a concern that her rights may have been violated.  Nobody read my Miranda rightites and I want to go.  Nobody read my Miranda rightites. Did you? We did not see the officer read Jamie her rights at the scene. However, she had asked for an attorney. So, the officer stopped questioning her, and she hadn’t been placed under arrest just yet. At that point, reading her rights to her about being allowed to remain silent and having the right to an attorney really wouldn’t have mattered much when she had already asked for a lawyer.

 All right, so Jamie, let  me explain this to you. What this is doing is getting ready for a breast sample from you. I cannot  force you to provide a breath sample, but if you refuse, okay, it will be used against you in the court of law. So when this goes to court, that will be used against you.

 It’s not going to be so much in your favor. Before I do this,  also this is going to provide you a chance to show yourself, us, whoever, if you feel that you’re not impaired, this is your chance to scientifically prove that you’re not. Just keep that.  Do I get to go home?  No.  Then I want to call someone.  You call someone when after you go to jail.

 I want to call someone right now.  We’re just focusing on this.  I want to call someone right now.  Okay. That’s refusing.  A blood draw was eventually taken from Jamie Kamaroski. Her blood alcohol concentration. 261, more than three times the legal limit. Jaime Kamaroski was charged with driving drunk and killing Sam Miller. and she was also charged with injuring Eric and Benjamin and Broen Garrett who were also in the golf cart.

 The solicitor claimed Kamaroski had been bar hopping for much of the day and a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Eric Hutchinson claimed the same thing. Kamaroski pleaded guilty to felony DUI, two counts of DUI causing great bodily injury or death and reckless homicide. She was sentenced to 25 years in prison,  the maximum sentence.

 Since she’s been in prison, she’s been working as a teacher’s assistant and has not been in any trouble according to what the records show. And that’s it for this episode of Crime Fix. I’m Anget Levy. Thanks so much for being with me. I’ll see you back here next time.
