The Billionaire’s Son PRETENDS To Be A Cleaner In His Mother’s Company To Find A Good Wife

PART 2:

She built an empire, and she is about to welcome the person she built it for. There he is. The real son. The one nobody in that office will recognize tomorrow. ” Emeka, I need to tell you about the plan. Tomorrow you will start work at Havilah. Not as my son. As a cleaner. ” Emeka did not see that coming. I miss this place, Mama.

Home. But tomorrow he will leave it as a cleaner. ” Emeka, I’ve seen too many women chase wealth and status. We’ll find one who chases what she is worth. ” She wants to find a woman chase wealth or chases character. ” Emeka, I’ve seen too many women chase wealth and status. We’ll find one who chases what she is worth.

” She wants to find a woman chase wealth or chases character. Mama, so I will be cleaning offices? ” Yes. I also have another layer to the plan. There will be another young man starting the same day as you. I am bringing in another young man for a basic job. I want him to have your office. ” You want a US casual boy and you want a US something coming.

” Emeka, there is something else. I am bringing in another young man into the company tomorrow. This young man is applying for a basic position. But I am going to give him a very prestigious office. ” A prestigious office? Why, Mama? ” I want to see how those girls behave when they think someone important has arrived.

Our the real important person is mopping their floors. ” It is a new morning at Havilah Investment Oil and Gas. Today two new people walk through these gates for the first time. One will be treated like a nobody, but only one of them actually is. This is Havilah Investment Oil and Gas, one of the most powerful billion-dollar companies in all of Nigeria.

And today, something is about to happen inside these walls that will change everything.  Inside these walls work some of the most ambitious people in Nigeria. All of them chasing something. But not all of them chasing the right thing. She built all of this. And today, she begins the most important test of her  life.

Tamara, the one nobody  is watching, but the one who matters most. He has stood at this gate  every morning for years. He knows every face. He sees every story. And the story he is about to witness will stay with  him forever. ” Good morning, my son. Come in. ” Good morning, sir. ” She did not even look back.

The real son just walked into his mother’s company as a cleaner. And not one person noticed. ” John, I have nothing to wear to this interview. ” Relax, Toby. We can find something. ” But everything’s dirty or old. ” We’ll figure it out. Take this. Wear it to your interview. ” Those clothes belong to John.

But Tobechukwu is already wearing them like they belong to him. ” Go and do well, my brother. ”  ” John gave his friend his best outfit. The only good outfit he had. He asked for nothing in return. Remember that. Before the Bentley. Before the prestigious office. Before the arrogance. This is where Tobechukwu Adeyemi comes from.

Tobechukwu came for a basic job interview. But the way he is looking at this building, you would think he owns it already. This is my office. He came for a basic job. And they are giving him a prestigious office. Watch what this does to him. Emeka is already watching. Already learning. Already seeing exactly who these people are.

” Who is that? Why is he getting that office? ” The game has begun. Bola notices everything. And she never forgets anything she notices. Tobechukwu came for a basic job. And he is sitting in an executive chair. Watch what this does to his head. ” Did you see that new guy? Why did they give him that office? I do not know.

But I intend to find out. ” Ngozi just saw him. And now she cannot stop thinking about who he is. Emeka can see exactly what his mother has set up and he finds it quietly amusing. ” You know the CEO’s son is supposed to be coming from London, right? The secretary just added fuel to a fire that is already burning.

” Three women, one conclusion, wrong. While everyone else is distracted by a man in a prestigious office, Tamara is simply doing her job. ” Good morning. ” Good morning. Just two words, but they meant everything. She sees everything. This woman must really like me. ” Torbuchukwu has been in this office for less than 1 hour and he has already decided he is special.

” Maybe. ” The CEO is watching this on her monitor upstairs and she is trying very hard not to laugh. ” Adobe has found a reason to walk past that office door. She always finds a reason. ” That new person in the big office, what exactly is his role here? I am not sure I can say. Tamara, did you see the new person they put in that big office? I have not really noticed.

You have not noticed? Tamara, there is a very fine man sitting in a very big office and you have not noticed. ” Tamara is genuinely not interested. ” And that is the rarest thing in this office right now. ” The most important person in this building  is eating alone in the staff canteen. And not one person knows it.

Tamara sees him sitting alone. And she does not look away. ” Excuse me. Do you mind if I sit here with you? ” Of course. Please sit. ” Nobody else in this building sat with him today. But Tamara did not even think twice. ” Yes. I will be needing lunch brought to my office. ” Something for a proper order of the canteen.

Toba Chuku has been here less than 4 hours. ” Ma. The new young man in the prestigious office. He has just called to request that restaurant food be brought to his office. ” Even the CEO did not expect this. ” Bola is keeping a record. She always keeps a record. John. They gave me a big office. ” Really? That is wonderful news.

” John was genuinely happy for his friend. Genuinely. ” Something has changed in  Toba Chuku. It happened quickly. Faster than anyone expected. ” Ma. ” Day one. And Emeka already knows. ” Bola has just added this to her list. She always has a list. ” Yes. I need someone to come and clean my office. ” And Mr. Chuku Jeff is clean.

He does not know who is about to walk through that door. The son just walked into his own office to clean it. And the man sitting in his chair did not even look up properly. Make sure you get the windows. Emeka is cleaning his own office while another man sits in his chair giving him instructions. ” Have you seen Tamara sitting with the cleaner at  lunch every day? ” The mother is watching her son clean the office of a man who has nothing.

And she is not laughing this time. The CEO is watching. And what she is seeing is not cleaning. What she is seeing is disrespect. ” All right, move the chairs over there. Get it done now. ”  ” Emeka has no problem with the work. He is humble enough for any task. It is the arrogance of the man giving the orders ”  ” that is deeply troubling his mother.

She gave that boy a prestigious office. And he used it to look down on people. Emeka, that boy in your office. It’s me. He has nothing and yet he dares. I have never seen anything like it in my life. Tamara just noticed something that nobody else in this office bothered to notice. ” Good night, Daniel. ” Good night, Tamara.

” Two people walking away from the same building in different directions, but somehow already connected. Tobechukwu does not like being ignored.  And he has just thought of a way to fix that. ” Hey. From today, you will be bringing my lunch to my office every day. Tobechukwu just made the cleaner his personal lunch delivery boy.

” Emeka. You do not have to do ” It is okay, Tamara. ” What is  this? ” Even the CEO did not see this coming. ” Emeka. That boy had the audacity. The audacity to make you his lunch delivery boy. ” The mother is furious, but Emeka is completely at peace. Mama, do not worry. How are the mighty fallen? ” From grace to grass, my son.

” The son is not angry. Inside these walls work some of the most ambitious people in Nigeria. All of them chasing something. But not all of them chasing the right thing. ” Daniel, I know it has been a tough few days. But things are going to be okay. Shall we pray? Lord, we thank you. We trust that you have a plan for every situation.

” Two people praying in a canteen. One of them has no idea she is sitting with a billionaire. ” Daniel, I have a car. It is not fancy, but I can drop you. Just tell me your closest bus stop. ” She is offering the billionaire a ride. She walked past him like he was not there. She does this every morning. ” Good morning, sir.

How are you today? ” She stops every single morning. Every single one. ” Somebody should tell the cleaning people to use a better product. ” He heard every word. And he said nothing. Bola has been watching Emeka since day one. But not the way the others watch him. Tamara saw everything. And it hurt her deeply.

” Emeka, still mopping? What a joke. ” Tamara saw everything. And it hurt her deeply. She did not even look at him. To her, he  does not exist. Tamara sees everything. And every time she sees it, something  in her chest tightens a little more. ” Can you not see I am standing here? Do your job somewhere else, please.

” I apologize. He apologized.  Even though he did nothing wrong. My son. Are you okay today? I am fine, sir. Thank you. ” Daniel. Are you eating lunch alone again today? Come. I have enough for both of us. ” She did not mean to see this moment. But she saw it. And it broke something  open in her chest.

” Daniel.  Are you eating lunch alone again today? Come. I have enough for both of us. Eat. You look tired today. ” She noticed he looked tired. ” Nobody else in this building noticed ” anything about him today. ” Of course. ” Tamara. ” Because it is the right thing to do Emeka. Why be what? And they meant everything to him.

Hey cleaner, my lunch, where is it? He snapped his fingers at him like he was nothing. Tamara saw that and something inside just shifted. Look at him, carrying a lunch tray for a man sitting in his own office and not one drop of  his dignity has fallen. He was dismissed with a wave of a hand and he walked  out with more class than the man sitting in that chair will ever have.

Daniel,  are you okay? She was the only one who asked. I am fine Tamara. Truly. You do not have to pretend with me Daniel. What exactly is she doing talking to the cleaner again? Adobi is irritated, not because she cares about Emeka, but because Tamara is getting attention she does not understand.

Emeka, I want to say something to you. I do not like what I am seeing in this office. She said it out loud, what she had been holding inside for days. Emeka, I have been thinking, maybe we should both look for another job. Somewhere that treats people with dignity. She said we, we. Can I help you? Why is he going to her desk? He just got his attention and Adobi cannot understand why.

Emeka sees everything, he always sees everything. ” Emeka. ” I made you something. ” Bola made him food in secret with her own hands. You made this for me. ” Just eat it. Do not make it a big thing. ” Underneath all that bluster is a soft heart. And she does not want anyone to know it. ” You know you are quite handsome for a cleaner.

” Quite handsome for a cleaner. Even her compliment was an insult. Thank you. She expected him to be grateful for her attention. ”  ” He was not. And that surprised her more than anything. ” Goodnight, sir. ” Emeka. Come. I will drop you. ” She never forgets. Not once. He owns a Bentley. And he is sitting in a small simple car.

And somehow this feels more real than anything he has ever experienced. ” Emeka, I want you to know something. What they do to you in that office, it is not a reflection of who you are. ” exactly what he needed to hear without even knowing  it. Goodnight, Tamara. ” Goodnight, Emeka. ” See you tomorrow.

” She drives away not  knowing she just dropped off the son of her CEO. Every evening he calls his mother. And every evening he has more to tell her. Every evening the mother waits for this call. ” Good evening, Mom. Hope you’re well. ” Work is  steady. And you? ” Okay, Mom. Talk tomorrow. ” Emeka.

Tell me about today. ” Every evening she asks the same question reveals more about the people in her company than any report ever  could. ” Every evening he walks back through these doors. And every evening the contrast between where he has been and where he  lives hits him a little differently.

Every morning this building fills up with ambition, with competition, ” with people chasing things. ” But not everyone walking through these gates this morning  is chasing the same thing. Adaobi arrives like she’s walking a runway every single morning. Chioma scans the car park every morning. She is looking  for clues, looking for information, looking for an advantage.

Emeka is not sad because of what they do to him. He is sad because he knows that somewhere out there people who are really  in his position go through this every single day and nobody saves them. ” Good morning, my son. ” This small moment at this gate every morning, it is the most genuine thing that happens in this building all day.

” Emeka, I wanted to ask you something. Would you like to have lunch together sometime? ” In a corridor  where nobody can see. Bola. Why in a corridor? Why not at the table in the canteen where everyone can see? ” He asked the question she did not want to answer. ” It is not like that, Emeka.

I I just thought it would be quieter. ” Bola, I’m not a beggar. I’m only a cleaner. There is a difference. He said it with complete dignity. And it landed like a truth she was not ready for. Tobechukwu is trying to get a reaction. He has been trying since day one. And Emeka has not given him one single time. ” Ma. Tobechukwu asked Emeka to deliver his lunch again this morning.

Send Tobechukwu to me immediately. ” The CEO has heard enough. Mama, the girl I told you about, Tamara dropped me at the bus stop again today. Again. She does it every day. ” This Tamara, tell me everything about her. ” The mother already knows. ” But she wants to hear him say it. ” The CEO is about to speak.

And when this woman speaks, people listen. ” I called you here for a reason. The cleaning staff in this company have specific duties assigned to them. Emeka is a cleaner. He is not your personal delivery. Tobechukwu, this flippant attitude is unacceptable. You will show respect. While the CEO is speaking to him here, you’ll wipe that smirk off your face.

This is a serious matter. ” Ma, with respect, I think you like me. Otherwise, why would you give me such a big office? He just told the CEO she likes him. In her own office, in her own building. ” You may go. ” She let him go. But she is already three steps ahead of him. ” I want you to arrange temporary accommodation for our new staff member.

Nothing too fancy. ” But not for the reasons he thinks. ” Tobechukwu, your accommodation keys and your car keys have been arranged by the company. ” Tobechukwu  just arrived in a Bentley. And he wants every single person in this car  park to see it. Three women, one Bentley, and one very wrong conclusion.

” Chiyoma, that must be the CEO’s son. It must be him. ” They have drawn the wrong conclusion. And it is about to make everything worse. ” Good morning, sir. ” She walked right past  the Bentley without looking at it. Not once. Today is the day of the big project presentation. And everyone in this room is about to find out something very important.

Tobechukwu has been given the floor. And for the first time since he arrived at Havilah, he does not look completely comfortable. Today is the day of the big project presentation. And everyone in this room is about to find out something very important. ” Good morning. Let’s begin. ” Tobechukwu has been given the floor.

And for the first time since he arrived at Havilah, he does not look completely comfortable. The words are not coming. The confidence that fills every corridor is nowhere to be found in this boardroom right now. ” As you can see on this slide, our Q3 projections show a 20% increase in output.

And market share of ” This room is getting uncomfortable in the region. And Tobechukwu is getting worse. Tamara just made a decision. Not for Tobechukwu. For the company. For the room. Because that is who she is. ” As we see the projections show a 50% growth. ” The room is getting uncomfortable. And the market in Lagos is volatile.

And Tobechukwu is getting worse. ” Excuse me. May I? ” The CEO just nodded. And that nod said ”  ” everything. The moment she opened her mouth, the whole room changed. ” Good morning. Today, we redefine our path to success. Our projections show a 20% cost reduction in the first year with revenue hitting 1 ” For the first time since he walked into this building, Tobechukwu has nothing to say.

Nothing at all. Tamara, I just want you to know I could have done that presentation myself. Tamara, I was just not ready. I was not interested. ” Okay, Tobechukwu. ” She did not argue. She did not laugh. She just said, “Okay.” The CEO just watched Tamara save a boardroom full of senior executives. And now she is making a call.

” Emeka, I need you to tell me something. ” She’s calling Ekene, the one nobody in that boardroom knows is her son. ” Tell me everything you know about the girl in the red dress. ” She already knows everything about Tamara, but she wants to hear it from her son because the way he talks about her will tell her everything she needs to know.

” Emeka is home in his magnificent room, in his magnificent house. But something is sitting very heavily on him tonight. Those people out there, the ones who are really in this position, Emeka is not sad for himself. He knows who he is. He knows this will end. But out there are people who will never have an ending like his, and that is what is breaking his heart tonight.

But I know why I’m doing this. And I know where it is going. When this is over, I am going to do something about it. The sadness is real, but so is the purpose. And Emeka has never lost sight of why he is doing this. He was looking at Tamara’s work  profile. He looks at it every night before he sleeps. He does not even realize he does it anymore.

The CEO built this plan carefully. She thought of everything. But tonight something is quietly troubling her. ” Did my son really have to go through all of this? ” She is questioning herself for the first time since this plan began. ” My own son. ” [snorts] ” She saw and it cost her something she did not expect.

” But it had to be done. A woman who will stand beside my son must be tested by fire. ” And she knows exactly where it is going. This is where Tamara lives. Not a mansion, not a penthouse, a simple, comfortable, honest home. Just like her. Her home looks exactly like her.  Simple, genuine, full of quiet warmth.

Tamara prays every night. But tonight her prayer is different. Tonight there is someone specific on her heart. ” Father Lord, there is a man ” She is telling God about Emeka. No performance, no pretending, just truth. ” Lord, I pray for Emeka.  I do not know his full story, but I know he is a good person.

This is your temporary accommodation, Tobechukwu. ” To most people this apartment would be a blessing. This is it. He just walked through an apartment that is 10 times better than John’s house. And he is already dismissing it. ” I gave him that accommodation and that car for a reason. It was not because he deserved it.

I gave him that accommodation and that car for a reason. It was not because he deserved it. I expected a young man given an opportunity like this to show gratitude. Instead, what is he doing? He is punishing others. He is treating people like they are nothing. His arrogance has already cost him more than he knows.

When he falls, he is going to fall very flat. He will have to go back to exactly where he came from. By time I’m through with him of this company,  ” Assume this woman never says anything she does not mean. ” He will have to go back to exactly where he came from. By the time I am through with him, he will not even remember the name of this company.

” The CEO has spoken. And this woman never says anything she does not mean. ” Tobe Chukwu, you came from the village. I gave you my most dramatic story. ” But Tobe Chukwu has already decided the truth is inconvenient. This Bentley does  not belong in this street. And everyone on this street knows it.

He came back. Not to say thank you, not to check on John. He came back for his passport. ” Tobechukwu, you came from the village. I gave you a place to stay. I gave you my own clothes to wear to that interview. ” John is reminding him of the truth. But Tobechukwu has already decided the truth is inconvenient.

He knew exactly where he kept it. He has not forgotten where he came from. He just pretends he has. ” Tobechukwu, I can be your driver. I will wait for you every morning. John offered to be his driver because he still believed in his friend. ” John, did they give you a car, too? ” That laugh cost more than Tobechukwu will ever know.

” Tobechukwu, I do not want anything from you. ” John mentioned his mother. The other day she was sick. I was the one who sent her money. Please. ” That woman is not my mother anymore. My mother is the CEO of Havilah Vesting Oil and Gas. ” He just disowned his own mother for a woman who does not even know his real story.

John is still standing at the same gate wearing the same shoes. The friend who gave everything is standing  alone watching the Bentley drive away. ” Emeka, clean that up. Now. Are you deaf? Pick it up. Pick it up, clean boy. Do what they told you. Emeka, you’re useless. this up. Pathetic. This floor is a mess.

You’re a disgrace to this office. Get out of our sight. I’ll sort of fix it. ” Tamara has seen enough. ” The tracker is active. Tobechukwu’s in the car. ” Yes, ma’am. The feed is clear. ” Good. Keep monitoring. We must be precise. ” Of course, ma’am. ” The first one has gotten into the car. ” Note it down. Ma, should we be surprised? ” The secretary already knew.

They both already knew. ” There. That’s  her. ” The second one. ” Ma, look. ” The third one. ”  ” Three girls, three evenings, one car. The CEO has seen everything she needed to see. ” And Tamara? Tamara has not been in that car once, ma. Not once. Not once. Ma, look at where the car went. ” He waited for her.

He always waits for her. ” Tamara, I want to take you somewhere tonight. ” Emeka wants to take her somewhere. He has been planning this. ” Emeka, this place is too expensive. You need to save your money. ” She is worried about his money. He owns the building they work in. ” Tamara, please, just for tonight.

” Let me do this. ” Look at them. A billionaire and a woman who does not know he is a billionaire sharing a candlelit table. You have a beautiful smile.  He is watching her laugh, and he knows. He has known for a while now. ” Tamara, no. ” She paid for dinner, for the man who  owns the restaurant they are sitting in, and she did it without thinking twice.

” Tamara, you did not have to do that. ” I know. Emeka, I need you to hear me. You need to save every penny money you earn. ” She is telling a billionaire to save his money. ” I have been thinking about what I said before. About us leaving this company. ” He has not forgot that. She never forgets. ” Imeca, I have savings.

Enough for both of us for a few months. ” Tamara. I see how serious. ” We can combine our salaries. Whatever I earn and whatever you earn, we put it together. She just offered him everything. ” You should be the head. ” If I knew everything about you, what? ” Nothing. I just want you to know that I am grateful.

Not yet. Tamara. ” Yes. If you knew everything about me. ” You almost said it. You almost told her. They are not talking. ”  ” But the silence between them says more than words ever could. ”  ” Thank you, Mara. ” You’re welcome, Imeca. ” Good night, Tamara. ” Good night, Imeca. ” He watches her until her car disappears every single time.

He calls his mother every night. But tonight he  has something different to tell her. The camera inside that Bentley has been recording everything. Every conversation, every destination, every secret. That woman is not my mother anymore. My mother is the CEO of Havilah Investment Oil and Gas. ” Ma, I have done some digging.

His name is John. I want to meet this John. ” Here, Ma, in the office? ” Yes, bring him here. ” Right away, Ma. ” Yes. John just received a call from Havilah Investment Oil and Gas, and he is certain his friend finally remembered him. John thinks Tobechukwu finally did something  good. He has no idea that Tobechukwu has nothing to do with this invitation.

Look at him, sitting in a billion-dollar office in his simple white shirt, with more dignity than anyone who has ever sat in that chair. ” John, tell me about the young man you were living with. ” Tobechukwu. He’s a good person, Ma. He came from the village, Ma. He needed a place to stay. I gave him what I had.

” And when he got the job here, how did he leave you? ” He moved on, Ma. It is only natural. He got a good job. He got a car. ” John, did he leave on bad terms? ” No, Ma. No, no, no. It is a blessing, Ma. John is protecting him even now,  even after everything. ” John, was he grateful to you? ” Yes, Ma. Yes, he was. He is okay.

John just told the biggest lie of his life, and he told it to protect someone who does not deserve it. ” John, do you think he deserved this job? ” Of course, Ma. Yes. ” He did not one bad word, not one. ” She is looking at a man who has nothing. And yet he protected the person who took everything from him. ” John, I have a job for you here at Havilah.

” Ihuoma. ” Ma. Thank you, Ma. God bless you, Ma. From a dilapidated house in Lagos to a job here. ” Three days ago, John was in a dilapidated house wondering how to pay his bills. Today, he is walking through the lobby of Havilah Investments Oil and Gas as a member of staff. God has a sense of humor. Tobechukwu just saw John in his building, in his company, and he cannot believe what  he is seeing.

Tobechukwu just saw John  in his building, in his company, and he cannot believe what he is seeing. ” So, you came to my office to look for me. What do you want here? ” I did not come to look for you, Tobiu. I also work here. ” [snorts] ” John said it calmly, without anger. But I also work here. ” Security, remove this person from the building immediately.

” Tobechukwu just called security on the man who gave him clothes off his own back. ” Excuse me. That gentleman is a member of staff. Please do not remove him. ” The receptionist just stopped everything. ” Sir, I apologize. ” It is okay. No problem. ” Mr. John, I sincerely apologize for the confusion. ” To director Edeji.

” Come with me to my office. Now. ” John follows him, not because he is afraid, but because he has nothing to hide. ” What do you think you are doing here? Did you come to mess up my life? ” John is not afraid, and that is making Tobechukwu even more furious. ” Tobechukwu, I saw a job vacancy. I applied for it.

I got the job, just like you got yours. Simple, calm, true. ” I never want to see you near me in this building. Do you understand me? ” John is about to say something, and it will be the most powerful thing said in this office all year. Tobechukwu, ” I did not get a prestigious office like you. I did not get a house or a car.

I got a job far below what you have. So, why So, why are you angry at me? ” He is not  finished yet. ” At least from this small job, I will be able to support your mother. Have you forgotten? I am the one who has been sending your mother money. From this job, I will be able to support your mother and my own mother.

Why are you not happy before me? ” Tobechukwu has no answer. For the first time since he arrived at Havilah, he has absolutely nothing to say. ” You are still my senior, and I will always respect you. ” John just walked out of that office with more class than Tobechukwu will ever have in his entire life. Tobechukwu is leaving work, but he is not going home alone tonight.

He never goes home alone. Adobe looked both ways before getting in. She does not want  anyone to see her. ” This car is beautiful. ” She is already And Tobechukwu knows exactly what he is doing. ” This is your place. ” My guest house. ” So, this is the guest house. ” Adaobi is looking around, but she is not asking questions.

” Because she wants to believe him too much to question him. So, this is the guest house. ” Adaobi’s looking around, but she is not asking questions. ” Because she wants to believe him too much to question him. ” Adaobi, I want you to know something. I think you are very good woman. He says this to all of them.

Every single one. I am looking for someone serious. Someone I can settle down with. ” I think that could be you. ” She believes every word. Every single word. Adaobi brought him food this morning. She cooked it herself. She has never cooked for anyone in her life before. Chioma just saw Adaobi take him food.

And Chioma is already planning her next move. Tonight it is Ngozi’s turn. And she  has been planning this evening since yesterday. ” I like this car. Same car. Same smile. Different girl. Tobechukwu, this is your guest house. ” Ngozi is looking around more carefully than Adaobi did. ” If you are the CEO’s son, why does your guest house look like this? ” If you do not believe me, Bola asked the same question and got the same answer.

” No, no, no. I was just asking. Of course I believe you. ” She backed down immediately. Because the prize is worth more than the question. Ngozi also brought him food this morning. She bought it from the most expensive restaurant in Lagos. ” What is she doing? ” Adwoa B just saw her competition walk past. And she does not like it one bit.

Chioma did not look both ways. She does not care who sees her. She has already decided she is the winner. Chioma is not impressed. But she is not leaving either. ”  ” Because Chioma plays a long game. Three girls, three evenings. One man who belongs  to none of them. And one woman who never got in the car at all.

” Emeka How was your evening? I paid for dinner. And she offered you her savings. ” Yes, Mama. The mother just heard everything she needed to hear. Amma She paid for dinner tonight. I tried to stop her. She would not let her clean her uniform. ” Emeka I want to meet this girl. ” Mama, not yet. ” The CEO wants to meet Tamara.

And when this woman wants something, it happens. Every evening he comes back to this. And every evening  the contrast gets heavier. ” Mama I want to tell her the truth. He is ready. ” I know. I have been waiting for you to say that. ” The mother knew before he did. Mothers always know. Mama, I want to tell her myself.

Before the big revelation. I want her to hear it from me first. Not from a crowd, not from a boardroom. From him. ” Then go. Go and tell her. Before tomorrow. ” The mother has spoken. And tomorrow everything changes forever. Goodnight, Tamara. ” Goodnight, Tim. ” He watches her until her car disappears. Every single time.

”  ” He has mopped her floors. He has eaten her food. He has sat in her simple car. ”  ” Tonight he is coming to her door as the man he really is. ”  ” Emeka. ” Can I come in? He came to tell her the truth. And the truth is going to change everything. Tamara. I need to tell you something.

Something important. I am not a cleaner. Tamara. The cleaning job was not real. My mother arranged it. My mother is the CEO of Havilah Investment Oil and Gas. I am her son. She needs a moment. And he understands. ” All this time you were watching us. Yes. ” I am sorry. Two words that cost him everything to say. ” Why me? ” Out of everyone in that office ” why did you choose to sit with me? ” She asked the right  question.

Because you were the only one who saw me. Not what I had, but what I could give you, and that was everything. ” Emeka ” Sometimes there are no words. And that is perfectly  okay. ” I need to think. ” He waited because she was worth waiting for. ” I am not angry. I understand why you did it. ” But in my two inch is nothing.

And he breathed for the first time all evening. ” What you felt when we talked when we prayed together ” when I dropped you at that bus stop every ” The most important question of the entire movie. ” Every single moment my word, my prayer, every bus stop ” all of it was real. ” All of it, and she believed him.

” Because it was the truth. ” There it is. That smile.  The one that started everything. ” Emeka I prayed for you every night. I asked God to protect you and make things better for you. I did not know. I did not know that God had already answered that prayer before I even prayed it. ” She prayed for a billion and not knowing he was a billionaire and God smiled.

” Emeka, listen to me. God does not make mistakes. Everything that happened, every lunch, every bus stop, every prayer, it was all part of a plan bigger than both of us. ” She just preached to a billionaire in a simple apartment and every word was true. This morning  feels different. Something in the air has shifted.

And before this day is over, nothing in this building  will ever be the same again. Mandatory, all staff. Nobody is excluded from what is  about to happen. They are already nervous and they do not even know why yet. Tamara already knows what this meeting is about. She is the only one in this office who does.

They are all here. Every single one of them. When this woman walks into a room, everything stops. And today, everything is about to stop for a very different reason.  ” Thank you all for coming. I have called this meeting because there are some things that need to be addressed. ” Some things that that’s happening in this room you just no longer be ignored.

” Tobechukwu, I want to start with you. She started with him. ” And his arrogant  expression just changed. ” When you came to this company, I gave you an opportunity. ” She is listing everything she gave him. And the room is listening to every word. I gave you a car. This is my son, Emeka. He has been working in this building as a cleaner since day one.

” The cleaner was the son all along. ” Instead of gratitude, you treated people badly. You were given a project presentation. You could not present it. You used company property for personal reasons. That is your resignation letter. Your last day is today. You will return the keys to the company car. You will vacate the accommodation by the end of this week.

” And you will return the keys to the prestigious office today. Every single thing. ” The girls are watching everything fall apart. And they do not yet know it is about to get worse for them. ” And now, I want to address the four of you. ” She said the four of you, not five. Tamara already knows she is not included in what comes next.

” I told each of you that my son was coming from London. I wanted to see your true characters. What I saw was not what I hoped for. However, there is one person in this office who has shown tremendous respect, who has been responsible. Who has treated everyone in this building with dignity. That person  is Tamara.

” With respect, Ma. Tamara is not any better than the rest of us. Tamara has been dating the cleaner. ” You say Tamara has been dating the cleaner. Well, let me introduce you to my son. And with those words, everything in that room changed forever. My son has been in this building every single day since the very first day.

And not one of them knew it. The cleaner just walked into the boardroom in a designer suit. And every jaw in this room  just dropped. ” They threw rubbish on his floor. They called him clean boy. They walked past him like he was invisible. And he was the son of the woman who signs their contracts. ” You called him clean boy.

You pushed his trolley. You walked past him like he did not exist. You made him deliver lunch like he was a servant. You mocked his cleaning products. You treated him like he was ” All this while chasing a man who had nothing. I set up this test because I needed to find one woman. One woman who would treat my son with dignity when she thought he had nothing.

” They all know who it is. ” If a woman can treat a cleaner with dignity and kindness, then she can treat a billionaire with the same dignity and kindness. ” She can love him with nothing, she can love him with everything. ” And finally, John, ” as of today you’ve been promoted in this company from a dilapidated house to a senior position.

God has a sense of humor. ” That is all. You may all go. ” The room is emptying. But the two most important  people are staying. And then there were two. ”
