7 Secrets to a Long, Healthy Dog Life: Dr. Jones’ Tips for Aging Dogs
there’s something big going on with Tula today is tula’s birthday she’s turning 12 she’s had virtually no veteran issues and in this video I’m showing you the seven secrets to her longevity are you looking to learn more about natural pet health and wellness you’ve come to the right place click the link to subscribe to Veterinary [Music] Secrets Tula is one pretty darn Healthy dog while we owned her she’s now 12 years old she has had virtually zero Veterinary problems would you think this spry little poodle is 12

no but she is and these are the seven big things I think are most important why she is so healthy number one it is Diet Tula does eat kibble currently she’s eating the Anana ranchlands but her diet is varied and she doesn’t just eat kibble this is a very high protein very high quality kibble with far less carbohydrates than most dog Kibbles she also gets some high quality high protein canned dog food twice a day Tula gets additional animal protein last night we had roast mix in some of the roast with your kibble completely improves the
quality of this food and then once a week I try to give her this this is prepackaged frozen raw my point being her diet is varied she’s not just getting exclusively one brand of kibble every 2 to 3 months I change the type of kibble I always add in additional nutrients such as the canned food increasing the amount of animal protein adding in some prepackaged frozen raw adding in some stew whatever type of food we’re eating to supplement your diet check out this yummy looking raw dog cake M number two no question one of
the big reasons why in my opinion Tula is doing so well and has lived till 12 with virtually no health issues it’s because of this Tula gets a lot of exercise three to four walks a day and one of those is usually a run exercise not only is going to keep your dog at a proper weight going to limit the amount of joint Point issues or secondary arthritis also plays a key role in normalizing his metabolic systems these dogs are far less likely to develop things such as diabetes do what you can for walking your dog aiming for at least
20 minutes three times a day number three this is vaccines Tula has not had a vaccine since we’ve had her that’s for the last 6 years she’s not been vaccinated for rabies distemper parvo lime disease bordatella autoimmune diseases diseases related to the immune system I.E allergies thyroid disease organ dysfunction Etc there are so many links to vaccines I feel that most dogs are over vaccinated leading to a whole host of secondary diseases in general you want a healthier dog vaccinate less number four tula’s had virtually no
conventional medications for instance as tula’s gotten older she’s had more boats of pain you know she’s gone for a little bit more of a harder bike ride she comes back limping so what could you give you could choose the anti-inflammatory drug medicam but medicam has its host of side effects GI upset liver disease kidney disease the alternative medications have far fewer side effects if Tula is sore and she’s in need of some pain relief I’m going to be choosing something like this this is CBD or cadile versus this
this Metacam I find the CBD to be quite effective no it’s not as quick as the Metacam but it’s so much safer less of these drugs more of these natural products number five Tula is a standard poodle cross Corgi cross who knows what this gives her the benefit of hybrid Vigor and tula’s got a mix of many genes for multiple different breeds she’s less likely to get some of these genetic related diseases two she potentially is just overall healthier this more robust immune system number six mental health Tula has pretty darn good mental health
in my opinion he’s a pretty darn connected dog she’s very bonded to her humans as you may or may not could have guessed she seems to have a pretty good life she’s got someone around most of the time she gets lots of walks she gets a variety of different food she gets lots of positive reinforcement I think little poodle here has some pretty good mental health and that definitely correlates to longterm health and not being sick in the first place number seven the one last big thing I’ve done to ultimately keep Tula
really healthy is I’m supplementing her diet not just with any supplement I’m using this Dr Jones’s ultimate can9 Advanced Health formula every morning when I give Tula a scoop of kibble she also gets a scoop of ultimate canine Advanced it has nutrients with support her joint health that’s why she’d be such an active dog at the age of 12 without needing anti-inflammatories I’ve really up the Mount of probiotics has a great job of supporting the intestinal tract as well as boosting the intestinal immune system there’s a key immune
support formula with high levels of colostrum plus this orangey stuff here that’s additional 95% curcumin such a great anti-inflammatory I think I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the star pet parent I don’t make all my dogs food from scratch I’m like reasonably consistent not super consistent and sometimes I forget this sometimes I don’t do that but I try to stick by those seven print principles and so far it’s worked out pretty well we’ve come to the end of the video and Tula is so looking forward to her raw dog cake
